Background

Konami Computer Entertainment Japan is the development sub-arm of Konami.

1st Logo (September 3, 1998-March 29, 2001)

Visuals: On a black background, there is a red long parallelogram, with the text "KCEjapan" on it. Below it is the byline "Konami Computer Entertainment Japan Presents."

Variants:

  • Sometimes, the text is black and the background is white.
  • On the Japanese GBC game of BeatMania GB2: Gotcha Mix, the byline "KONAMI COMPUTER ENTERTAINMENT JAPAN" is shown below the logo.
  • On some games, the logo lacks the byline.

Technique: A still, computerized graphic.

Audio: None, or the opening theme of the game.

Availability: Mostly on GBC, PS1 and PS2 games like Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions.

2nd Logo (July 5, 2001-April 8, 2003)

Visuals: Over a white background is the text "Konami Computer Entertainment Japan" in two lines.

Variant:

  • Sometimes, the text is white and the background is black.
  • On the PS1 game of Groove Adventure Rave: Yuukyuu no Kizuna, the text is in one line.
  • On the the PS2 game of Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner, the text is in Helvetica Bold Condensed font in one line. Plus, the text is entirely white on black background.
  • On the GBA game of Yu-Gi-Oh! Worldwide Edition: Stairway to the Destined Duel, the text is in Helvetica Bold Condensed font. Plus, the text is entirely black.

Technique: A still, computerized graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on GBA, PS1 and PS2 games like Yu-Gi-Oh! The Eternal Duelist Soul.

3rd Logo (July 17, 2003-March 17, 2005)

Visuals: Over a white or black background is the text "KONAMI" in a corporate font, and below it is the text "COMPUTER ENTERTAINMENT JAPAN" in the same font.

Variant: On some games, the background is black.

Technique: A still, computerized graphic.

Audio: None, or the opening theme of the game.

Availability: It was seen on GBA, PS1 and PS2 games like Rave Master, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, Cy Girls, the Boktai games and many others.
