1st Leader (1970s)

Visuals: A variant of the SMPTE Universal Leader with a logo frame appearing from the 7 to 5-count of the countdown sequence. The logo frame consists of an abstract and stylized "K" inside a circle over a black background, with "KALEIDOSCOPE" below.

Technique: Cel animation.

Audio: The 2-pop beep.

Availability: Seen on a 16mm TV spot for the film Making It.

2nd Leader (1970s-1980s)

Visuals: Same as before, except a different logo frame is shown, showing "KALEIDOSCOPE" in rainbow lettering inside a decorative circular Art Deco frame made out of rainbow-colored lines. Below is "KALEIDOSCOPE FILMS LTD." in white.

Technique: Same as before.

Audio: Same as before.

Availability: Can be seen on some 16mm prints of TV spots, such as one of the 1980 film Rough Cut.
