Background

J-Wing was a video game publisher and developer that was formed in 1993 to publish video games for various platforms. It appears that the company had exited the video game business in 2003.

1st Logo (December 30, 1994-September 26, 1997)

Visuals: On a white background, there is the blue text "j•WING" with a seagull on the "G". A blue oval as a dot and a blue thick ribbon resembles the "j" and two blue upside down triangles resemble the "W".

Variants:

  • On Game Boy Titles, the text "J•WiNG Co., Ltd." appears below the logo.
    • On Mini 4 Boy for GB, it slides up from the bottom, but the logo is black.
    • On Animal Breeder for GB, it uses a line transition from the left.
  • On Pururun! with Shape-Up Girls for PSX, the seagull on the "G" is animated, and the background is black.

Technique: A sprite-based graphic, depends on the variant.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on earlier video games by the company.

2nd Logo (May 15, 1998-August 24, 2001; June 5, 2003-October 16, 2003)

Visuals: Same as the previous logo, except the logo is brightened, the "J" is in a different font with a top line, the "W" is now in a sans-serif font and the "G" is now in a rounded font with the seagull from the previous logo on it.

Variants:

  • Sometimes, the logo is black on some GB titles.
  • On Animal Breeder 2 for GB and Go! Go! Hitchhike for GB, it uses the same Animal Breeder animation.
  • On Animal Breeder 3 for GBC, a black "WING" slides from the right screen and a "J" slides diagonally from the top. As they settles, a dot zooms out between "J" and "WING". The whole logo turns to sky blue.
  • On Animal Breeder 4 for GBC, the logo appears via reverse morph.
  • Sometimes, the logo is stretched on some titles.

Technique: A sprite-based graphic, depends on the variant.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on later video game titles by the company, such as most GB and GBC titles, as well as Karan Koron Gakuen series for PS1. Its last known appearance is Matantei Loki Ragnarok: Gensou no Labyrinth for GBA.
