Background

International Sports Broadcasting (ISB) is a company that specializes in the host broadcast coverage of major sporting events. Its first major role was in the Olympic Winter Games Salt Lake 2002 where ISB produced the world feed and delivered over 10,000 hours of broadcasting, marking this the first, and only time the broadcaster was fully involved in an Olympic Games. ISB was also the host broadcaster for the Salt Lake 2002 Paralympic Games, the Torino 2006 Paralympic Games, the Rio 2007 Pan American Games and the Guadalajara 2011 Pan American Games among many other major sporting events.

1st Logo (February 8-24, 2002)

Visuals: There is the Great Salt Lake as the camera traverses through it. After that, the screen fades to white to reveal a Salt Lake 2002 Olympic torchbearer, which later zooms out as it is placed in a silver Salt Lake 2002 emblem logo. The logo later spins to transition to some city buildings. The emblem later moves to the right as the background fades into a snowy mountain. After the emblem zooms in a bit, as the background transitions to a horse running in a field. After that, the background transitions to the Delicate Arch as the emblem logo zooms out and the words "SALT LAKE 2002" are revealed along with the Olympic Rings. The logo is then placed in a orange square consisting of the ISB logo, the words "OFFICIAL BROADCASTER" and the Salt Lake 2002 emblem logo.

Technique: A mix of CGI and live-action footage.

Audio: A triumphant orchestrated music which is titled "Call of the Champions", composed and performed by John Williams with the Utah Symphony and the Tabernacle Choir.

Availability: Seen on broadcasts of the Olympic Winter Games Salt Lake 2002.

2nd Logo (March 10-19, 2006)


Visuals: On a white background, superimposed over live-action footage, there is the Paralympic Agitos symbol, which rotates. The background later fades quickly into footage of winter Para sports, when the logo briefly rotates. After some rotations, the symbol turns into its normal position, before zooming out to transition into the IPC logo alongside a blue square with the ISB logo and the words "TORINO 2006 PARALYMPICS" on the bottom of the IPC logo before fading to black.

Technique: A mix of digital traditional animation with live-action footage.

Audio: The TOBO theme.

3rd Logo (July 13-29, 2007)


Visuals: On a green background, there are some birds that form the Rio 2007 logo flying around. After that a man cycles on a green track while footage of the Christ the Redeemer statue and the iconic Copacabana floor can be seen on the left upper corner and right corner respectively while a karateka stands on the latter. The background changes to yellow while a man playing tennis hits the ball, this is followed by a girl tossing a volleyball, a woman doing gymnastics with her ribbon while the background transitions to blue to reveal a sailor sailing across a blue ribbon with a ribbon displaying the city of Rio de Janeiro on a sunset. This is followed by a man kicking a soccer ball and then, the background transitions to white as the ISB logo is shown, with the words "Emissora anfitriã" ("Host broadcaster" in Portuguese), with the birds forming the Rio 2007 logo on top of it.

Technique: A mix of CGI with live-action footage.

Audio: A samba/carnival theme.

4th Logo (October 14-30, 2011)


Visuals: On a white background, there is a bird flying on a background representing the sun before expanding to reveal a man preparing to take a dive in a rainforest on a canyon when it later transitions to a man weightlifting in a Greek-like monument, which later changes to two karatekas fighting while the Mexican flag is briefly displayed. Then, it transitions to a woman doing rhythmic gymnastics with her ribbon, a man doing equestrian jumping, a man sailing with the boat having the Guadalajara 2011 logo on its flag, and two people playing beach volleyball. After, that it zooms into a man throwing a giant ball, a man hitting a baseball and a man throwing a basketball respectively before finally transitioning to a man running with a rugby ball and a woman swimming, before the background fades into white as the Guadalajara 2011 logo is formed. After that, the logo moves to the right to make room for the ISB logo with the words "Radiodifusora Antifirona" ("Host broadcaster" in Spanish) on the bottom of it.

Technique: A mix of CGI with live-action footage and traditional digital animation.

Audio: An upbeat Mexican-style theme with trumpets and DJ-like electronic beats.

Availability: Seen on broadcasts of the Guadalajara 2011 Pan American Games.
