Background

This was a production company ran by Dan Halsted with support from director Oliver Stone, formed in 1995. No on-screen logo was used until 1996. The company went under in 1999 and Halsted went on to create Halsted Pictures, which would later get rebranded to Camelot Pictures.

(August 23, 1996-August 18, 1998)

Logo: On a black background, a blue oblong shape, resembling a pair of sunglasses, slides in from the left of the screen. Upon getting to the opposite side, the shape tilts down as a blue frame containing what looks to be a fruit zooms back. Beneath the frame is the word "ILLUSION" in a stylized font. The background brightens as the logo zooms back and remains on screen for a few more seconds.

FX/SFX: The shape and zooming.

Music/Sounds: A descending clicking sound, along with the sound of wind blowing (which is a part of the opening theme of the film.), otherwise it's silent or has the finishing theme playing over it.

Availability: Appeared at the start of Freeway, the end of U-Turn and the documentary The Last Days of Kennedy and King. This doesn't appear on the company's first film Nixon, and while Halsted helped co-produce many of Stone's films his company was never credited.
