Background
Guild Film Distribution was the theatrical division of Guild Home Video.
1st Logo (1985-1993)
Visuals: It's the 1985 home video logo, but in widescreen and "Film Distribution" also replaces "Home Video".
Technique: 2D computer animation.
Audio: The home video counterpart's theme.
Audio Variant: In its last year of usage, it used a lush orchestral remix of the 1993 home video theme.
Availability:
- It appears on VHS releases of Guild's first cinema releases, such as Cliffhanger, Last Exit to Brooklyn, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, The Fourth War, Universal Soldier and Rambo III.
- The later music variant was found on a trailer for Bad Lieutenant, which appears on the Blu-ray release from Fabulous Films.
2nd Logo (1993-1996)
Visuals: Same as the 1993 home video counterpart, but matted to widescreen.
Technique: Same as the home video counterpart.
Variant: A "windowboxed" version exists, appearing before the Cinergi Pictures logo on a UK trailer for Judge Dredd.
Audio: Same as the home video counterpart.
Audio Variant: On some films, it may have used the previous logo's orchestral rendition of the home video theme.
Audio Trivia: The music was composed using the Korg M1 workstation from 1988.
Availability: Appears on later Guild cinema releases of the era before the company started a merger with Pathé in 1996, such as James and the Giant Peach; the home video counterpart appears on the UK VHS release of the film.
