Background

Fremulon is a television production company founded and owned by television producer and writer Michael Schur, launched in April 2008. The company name comes from the fake insurance company that his pseudonym, Ken Tremendous, worked at when he was writing for the blog Fire Joe Morgan.

Logo (September 17, 2009-)

Visuals: On a white background, there is the text "THIS UNIT OF ENTERTAINMENT BROUGHT TO YOU BY" in a Bank Gothic font. Below it, there is a black triangle with 2 chunks taken out of the left side, which is meant to resemble an abstract "F" and the italicized word "FREMULON". A red laser draws in over the triangle and the company name, pinging brightly as it reaches the end.

Variants:

  • A still version exists.
  • It sometimes shares the screen with other logos.

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: A laser sound effect, followed by a voice (Nick Offerman) saying the company name.

Audio Variants:

  • Sometimes, it's silent or it's just the laser sound.
  • On season 2 of Master of None, the 3 Arts Entertainment logo theme plays over.
  • On Q-Force, the theme from the Hazy Mills Productions logo plays over.
  • On the Brooklyn Nine-Nine episode "Yippie Kayak", the "Shh!" sound from the Dr. Goor Productions logo plays over instead of the laser sound due to an editing error.
  • On the special "A Parks and Recreation Special", the last part of the Li'l Sebastian tribute song "5,000 Candles in the Wind" (performed by Amy Poehler and Chris Pratt as Leslie Knope and Andy Dwyer, respectively) plays over, which carries on into the Universal Television logo.
  • Original NBC airings used a generic theme and a voice-over.

Availability: It debuted on Parks and Recreation (starting with season 2) and on all projects following it.
