Background

France Télévisions Distribution is the home video distribution arm of France Télévisions, and releases mostly the catalog from their channels France 2, France 3, France 4 and France 5.

1st Logo (1992-2000)

Visuals: Just a simple box with the word "France Television" between France 2 and France 3 logos in one part, and "distribution" written in the other part.

Technique: None. This is a still logo.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on releases from the company at the time.

2nd Logo (2000-2002)

Visuals: A scanning transition occurs. We see the France 2 logo that was used at the time against a white background. Another transition occurs, then we see the France 3 logo, then the last logo of La Cinquième (which would later become France 5), then the full logo, with "France Télévision" at the top, the TV stations logos at the center, and "Distribution" at the bottom. The logo concludes with another scanning transition to pitch black.

Technique: The transitions between the pictures.

Audio: A generic vibraphone tune.

Availability: Seen on releases from the company at the time.

3rd Logo (2002-2008)

Visuals: On a dark blue background, we see four squares flipping from left to right. Then the text "francetélévisions" with "distribution" written under it, in Heldustry font. After a few seconds, the text vanishes, and the squares flip out in the same way they appeared.

Technique: The squares flipping.

Audio: Flashing sounds, completed with two synth notes, similar to one of the "présente" (presents) idents used at the time on France 3.

Availability: Unknown.

4th Logo (2008-2014)

Visuals: On a dark background, a light shines in the middle of the screen before briefly blinding our view. We then see five colored squares flipping into place, each changing colors until they settle on red (France 2), blue (France 3), purple (France 4), green (France 5) and orange (France Ô) in this specific order. Below them is the same "francetélévisions" and "distribution" text in the Heldustry font as with the previous logo. After a few moments, the logo fades out.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A synth sounder with whooshes.

Availability: The logo is available to watch on the "Medias Lenodal" website. Much like the previous logo, it is no longer in use but remains available on any release from the time.
