Background

France Télévisions Distribution is the video company of TV company France Télévisions, and releases mostly the catalog from their channels France 2, France 3, France 4 and France 5.

1st Logo (1992-2000)

Logo: Just a simple box with the word "France Television" between France 2 and France 3 logos in one part, and "distribution" written in the other part.

FX/SFX: None. This is a still logo.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Extremely rare. Seen on releases from the company at the time.

2nd Logo (2000-2002)

Nickname: "Lazy Scanner", "Scan Transition of Boredom"

Logo: A scanning transition occurs. We see the France 2 logo that was used at the time against a white background. Another transition occurs, then we see the France 3 logo, then the last logo of La Cinquième (which would later become France 5), then the full logo, with "France Télévision" at the top, the TV stations logos at the center, and "Distribution" at the bottom. The logo concludes with another scanning transition to pitch black.

FX/SFX: The transitions between the pictures.

Music/Sounds: A generic vibraphone tune.

Availability: Rare. Seen on releases from the company at the time.

3rd Logo (2002-2008)

Nicknames: "The Four Squares", "Photo Flash Squares"

Logo: On a dark blue background, we see four squares flipping from left to right. Then the text "francetélévisions" with "distribution" written under it, in Heldustry font. After a few seconds, the text vanishes, and the squares flip out in the same way they appeared.

FX/SFX: The squares flipping.

Music/Sounds: Flashing sounds, completed with two synth notes, similar to the ident theme TV channel France 2 and France 3 (except France 5) used at the time.

Availability: Used to be common in France, but since it's no longer their current logo, it's starting to become rare. Seen on releases from the company at the time.

4th Logo (2008-2014)

Nicknames: "The Five Squares"

FX/SFX: The squares spinning
