Background

Forum Home Video became a division of Virgin Vision in late 1989/early 1990. Originally, the company was a standalone video distributor operated by M.C.E.G..

(1980's)

Nickname: "Paper Reveal"

Logo: On a cream background, we see a dark paper with "FORUM" on the paper, zooming up to us, then zooming down and in, taking the whole screen. The paper then pulls away back to the cream background, revealing that is "FORUM HOME VIDEO".

Variant: On some releases the word "FORUM" would pop up on a black background.

FX/SFX: The paper motion.

Music/Sounds: Usually silent, but on some occasions it used the first few seconds of "Where's the Walrus?" by The Alan Parsons Project.

Availability: Can be found on old VHS of Scarecrows, Crystalstone, Dr. Hackenstein, No Safe Haven, Terror Squad, Return to Mayberry, Captive Rage, Dark Tower, Mob War, Search and Destroy, Covert Action, No Retreat, No Surrender 2: Raging Thunder, Perry Mason Returns, Bloodstone and Edge of the Axe, among other titles. It makes a surprise appearance at the end of an Impact print of Static (1985)

Legacy: The jingle itself may sound kind of odd, but the animation may most likely be simple.
