There is a myth that the Paramount mountain served as an inspiration to Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry for his IDIC (Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations) motif, which was represented by a circular light/halo over a mountain.

I don't know how true this is or if it's just a coincidence, but the similarity of both symbols is something to note.
