Background

FAF Entertainment (Studio F.A.F./Animated Film Factory) is a Russian film and animation studio. One of its first projects was the famous Neznayka na lune (Dunno on the Moon) cartoon based on the novel of the same name.

1st Logo (December 1997-May 7, 2000)

Visuals: On a white background, a gray cast iron ball with a small hole on the bottom-left rolls to the screen as two interlocked lowercase F's are seen, one placed vertically and one horizontally. One of the F's raises while the ball stops rolling. Then an orange laser appears and forms an orange "a" into the hole on the ball. The F's tails then draw in. The logo moves back. The words "Студия Ф.А.Ф." then fade in above. The words "фабрика", "анимационных" and "фильмов" then wipe in one-by-one.

Variant: On Noski bol'shovo goroda, "F.A.F. Entertainment" appears instead of "Студия Ф.А.Ф.", and "фабрика", "анимационных" and "фильмов" don't appear at all.

Technique: Cel animation.

Audio: None. On some cases, a synthesized fanfare with crystal wind chimes at the beginning is heard.

Availability: Seen on all Neznayka na lune (Dunno on the Moon) cartoons and the Noski bol'shovo goroda (Socks of a Big City) short.

2nd Logo (November 15, 2001)

Visuals: On a black background, the logo is seen on the left, but with a white ball, with "Студия Ф.А.Ф" to the right of it. The "при поддержке Службы кинематографии Министерства культуры РФ" ("with support of The Cinematography Service of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation") text is seen below.

Technique: A still graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Only appeared on the film Musorshik.
