Background

Essex Video was the home video distributor of Essex Pictures that released its adult films on VHS and sometimes on LaserDisc. Previously, their releases were released through a distributor named Select Video.

(1984-1990)

Logo: On a black background, the words "ESSEX VIDEO" are seen in a golden Yagi Double font (the same font that the Sega logo uses) with a segmented line in the middle, and surrounded by a rounded rectangle. The logo twirls around diagonally, then unfolds itself. It shines a bit, then we fade out.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: None, but on certain tapes and LaserDiscs it used a disco-like synth-piano tune that sounded like something from a news broadcast from the late 70s.

Availability: Can be seen on vintage pornographic films on VHS from the 1980s.
