Background

Ellipse Programme is a French animation studio that was founded in 1987. In February 2000, it merged with Expand SA where it was renamed to EllipsAnime, but was sold to Dargaud Média in 2003.

Logo (January 5, 1990-February 16, 1998)


Visuals: On a black background, the tall white text "ELLIPSE" fades in, and a orange stripe moves down from within the text and stops in the middle. Below it, "PROGRAMME" fades in.

Variants:

  • An version for Ellipse Animation exists, where the orange is replaced with lime, and the text now reads "ANIMATION".
  • On Zorro (the early-1990s TV series), the logo is shown in flat monochrome.
  • On The Adventures of Tintin, "PROGRAMME" fades in late.
  • On Qui est qui, the stripe is colored red and the logo is also inside a box.
  • An in-credit variant exists.
