Background

Founded in 2001, Elastic Rights is a marketing and commercial platform specialized in the integrated management of multimedia brands and content (animation and live action). They develop all areas of business of each brand (TV, home entertainment, publishing, toys, merchandising & licensing, Internet, music, sales and retail promotions) and premieres 4 series each year (preschool, boys, girls and live action) in Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Turkey and France.

1st Logo (2003-2007)

Visuals: On a white background, the text "ELASTIC" in a haphazardly-formed font can be seen formed already, as a cartoony lime green spring draws in above the "E" and squishes itself and the latter. It then bounces over to the right, squishing the "C", and then hops to the middle, squishing the "S". It then hops up and hovers over the text, right as a coiled lime green line appears below the logo and moves a bit, as well as "P R E S E N T S" appears below.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: Cartoony springy noises play over a constant sound of wind blowing. Another "whoosh" sound plays when the line appears.

Availability: Seen on older prints of shows and DVDs they distributed in Spain, like Caillou.

2nd Logo (2007-)

Visuals: On a white background, a 3D version of the spring appears bouncing up and down while the camera wildly pans around it, and every time it bounces, it switches the spring color to white and the background either to red and lime green. After a few seconds of the spring bouncing, the camera pans back a bit before it suddenly cuts to the 2D spring from before stretching and hopping to just above the center of the screen as the "ELASTIC" wordmark fades in and stretches into place. As soon as it stops, the screen rapidly switches between the white, red, and lime green for a second before it returns back to normal.

Variants:

  • Later on, due to concerns over epilepsy, the logo was heavily desaturated as a result.
  • A textless version exists with the flashing at the end omitted.

Technique: A mix of CGI and 2D animation.

Audio: A mix of wind, hopping noises, and squeaky thumps throughout the logo, before ending with a generic spark sound effect.

Availability: It appears on various animes and children's programming in Spain, like Caillou, the Dragon Ball franchise, Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! and Captain Tsubasa dubs. It also later appeared on other series across Europe, like Mermaid Melody and Patito Feo in Greece. Still appears at the beginning of several shows.
