Background

Vat19.com is an online store founded in 2000 by Jamie Salavtori. Originally, they sold DVD's, but currently, they're selling "curiously awesome products" ranging from exaggerated candies, licensed products, extremely spicy chocolates or Rocket Fizz sodas coming with interestingly strange flavours.

1st Logo (February 28, 2007-2009)

Logo: Just the the text "Vat19.com" placed somewhere on the product presented and advertised. In the case for the image shown, the text is placed above the DaysAgo digital day counters (currently discontinued).

Variants:

  • Starting in an ad promoting the Accutire Programmable Digital Tire Pressure Gauge, the text will be replaced by their own logo at the time, which is just the text in orange and gray with a white border respectively sent in the Hobo font.
  • in the logo's last few years, the logo has a glossy effect and doesn't have the white border, this would be later used for the next logo.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: A male announcer saying "Vat19.com. Creators of award-winning DVD's and purveyors of curiously awesome products."

Music/Sounds Variant: When the logo was used in tandem with the 2nd and 3rd logos, the quote is shortened to remove the DVD mention.

Availability: Seen on many of their promos and advertisements at the time. Most of the products they used to sell on the site at the time are discontinued, however, it was used in tandem with the 2nd and 3rd logos in its last few years until early 2009.

Editor's Note: None.

2nd Logo (September 29, 2008-February 16, 2009)

Nickname: "Sliding Vat19"

Logo: Against a white background, the "VAT19" text slides from left to right. The text ".com" appears later on, all in sync with the jingle. A mouse comes in and "clicks" on the logo. At the bottom during this is "Shop CURIOUSLY AWESOME gifts".

Variants:

  • A still version without the slogan or ".com" can be seen on a couple of advertisements for the products they sell at the time. Most of which are discontinued.
  • On an ad promoting the LightWedge LED Book Light (the first ad to use the animated version of this logo), the background is blue.
  • On an ad promoting the FotoFlora Photo Frame and Vase, the background have yellow and white lines around it, which slowly moves.
  • On a few ads, the background is plain white.
  • On an ad promoting the SelfCharge Auto Jumper, the background is red.
  • On an ad promoting the Magnogrip Magnetic Tool Wristband, the background has a sliver effect.

FX/SFX: The text sliding, ".com" appearing, and the mouse clicking.

Music/Sounds: A group of men singing the store name. A mouse click was heard afterwards. This will later go on be heard in future logos.

Availability: Like the previous logo, it was seen on many of their ads at the time.

Editor's Note: None.

3rd Logo (February 17, 2009-late 2011)

Nicknames: "Sliding Vat19 II"

Logo: An updated version of the previous logo. The background now sports gradients, the text is now curved and has a reflection, the ".COM" part of the logo is now capitalized and the "CURIOUSLY AWESOME" part from the slogan of the previous logo is now bold and on a different font. On some advertisements, it will segue to an aftermath of that promo.

FX/SFX: Same as before.

Music/Sounds: See the 2nd Logo.

Availability: Like the previous 2 logos, it was seen on many of their ads at the time. This time, most (or some) products (i.e. The World's Largest Gummy Bear, which was later renamed to the Giant 5-Pound Gummy Bear.) are in stock at the time the logo was in use, so make sure to get it while they're in stock if you have enough money.

Editor's Note: None.

4th Logo (2011?-2014)

Nicknames: "Zooming Vat19"

Logo: TBA.

Variants:

  • A black and white version was seen at the end of an ad promoting the Das Talking Bottle Opener.
  • On a few ads, there's another screen appearing on a certain position of the screen showcasing random people singing the jingle.

FX/SFX: The text zooming and the ".com" text appearing in time with the jingle alongside a glow for when the text is in place and a line being drawn on the "CURIOUSLY AWESOME" part of the slogan.

Music/Sounds: See the 2nd logo.

Music/Sounds Variant: On the promo for the Das Talking Bottle Opener, the regular jingle was replaced with a man whispering the store name as well as uttering the usual clicking sound when the mouse clicks on the logo.

Availability: Like the previous 3 logos, it was seen on many of their ads at the time. The black and white variation can be seen on the aforementioned Das Talking Bottle Opener promo. By the time Vat19 changed their logo in 2014, this was no longer in use.
