Intro (1976-1982)

Visuals: On a black background, six shapes colored gold, orange and red respectively, appear in pairs one after another to form a hole in the middle that resembles a 2. Then, a white dot appears in between the shapes and draws a large 2 as the word "telegiornale" in white wipes on the bottom-right of the logo.

Variants:

• In its first year of usage, the intro is black and white.
• Sometimes, a clock would be displayed on the upper left corner of the screen during the intro's animation.
• A different variant exists where the logo is slightly bigger, but as the 2 is drawn in, the logo zooms out to a farther distance. Then, the word "telegiornale" zooms in and places itself below the logo.

Technique: Cel-animation.

Audio: Three bell tolls gradually rising in pitch each time the shapes appear, followed by a distorted sound when the 2 draws in.
