Televisi Republik Indonesia (or often abbreviated as "TVRI") is a public television network and the first one in Indonesia, launched in August 24, 1962 as the sole national television channel. It wasn't until 1989 when a privately-funded television station named Rajawali Citra Televisi Indonesia (RCTI) was launched, immediately putting TVRI in the competition. Its national headquarters is in Gelora, Central Jakarta.
