Background

SKC Softland was the video game subsidiary of SKC, mostly being a distributor of computer games. The entity owned two developer companies: Namil Soft and Wizard Soft.

1st Logo (April 1992-1995)

Visuals: On a white or black background is the SKC logo with the text "SOFTLAND" below.

Variant: On Antman the logo is shown with "SOFTLAND" placed next to it.

Technique: A still, sprite-based graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on Box Ranger, Fox Ranger and Antman.

2nd Logo (September 1992)

Visuals: On a black background is the large "SKC" trademark text in red, with a sparkle in top of the K. Below it is the name disclaimer of the company.

Technique: A still, sprite-based graphic.

Audio: Theme continued from the preceding Makkoya logo.

Availability: Only seen on 요정전사 뒤죽 (Yojeongjeonsa Dwijuk).

3rd Logo (May 1993)

Visuals: Unknown

Technique: Unknown

Audio: Unknown

Availability: Seen on the PC game 복수무정: 분노의 눈물 (aka Tears of Fury).

4th Logo (1994-1995)

Visuals: On a white background, there is a drawing of a red floppy disk with its upper-right parts segmented into small squares, with a star breaking out of it. Next to it is the "SKC" trademark text, and "SOFT LAND" in black below.

Technique: A still, sprite-based graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on Darkside Story and Pee & Gity.

5th Logo (February 1996-1998)

Visuals: There's a rectangle where we see a yellow blob-like character with a smiley face and moving star effects next to it. Next to the character is the "SKC" logo and "SOFTLAND" in a childish hand-drawn font.

Variants:

  • The logo originally was shown on a white background.
  • Other games feature the logo placed over a blue background (either a plain gradient one or an abstract one).
  • On Campus Love Story, the logo is placed on the bottom-right along with the Namil Soft logo.

Technique: A still, sprite-based graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on PC games distributed around Korea including Karma: Immortal Wrath, Counter Blow and Antman 2.
