Background

Regal Home Entertainment, also called Regal International, Inc. and Regal Home Video, is the home video division of Regal Films. In the Philippines, Regal outsourced their distribution to Viva Video by distributing their titles on DVD and VCD.

Regal International, Inc.

1st Logo (early/mid 1980s-1989)

Visuals: On a purple background, there are the words "REGAL INTERNATIONAL PRESENTS" with quotation marks.

Variant: On a release of Pilipinas Kong Mahal, a blue background was used.

Technique: Still computer animation.

Audio: None.

Availability: Appears on their very early VHS tapes, including Anak Ng Cabron.

2nd Logo (1989-1992)

Visuals: On a background with a large and moving blue star, the same "R" from the second Regal Entertainment logo, but thinner font weight, is onthe center of the screen. The words "Regal International, Inc."(in a similar font, and in capri) fade in. The word "Presents" (in a modern-styled font, and also in capri) crawls down from below the word "Regal International, Inc."

Variant: On I Have 3 Eggs and Pretty Boy Hoodlum, the logo is shorter and has a green tint to it.

Technique: 2D digital animation.

Audio: Same as the second Regal Films logo.

Availability: Same as before; once again, only seen on some Filipino films. Sometimes appears before the Regal Films logo. This strangely plasters the Seiko Films logo on some releases like the 1991 VHS of Kristobal: Tinik sa korona right after the Live Home Video FBI Warning.

3rd Logo (1990-1992)

Visuals: On a blue background, the text "Regal International Inc. presents" in a white bordered serif font flips in.

Variants:

At the end of some tapes the text says "The Following is a preview of Regal International's forthcoming video releases" bumper exists.
On Barbi For President, the text are in red tint.
On a 1992 releases such as Bukas Tatakpan Ka Ng Dyaryo the logo uses the different text the word "Inc." has been omitted. Also, it flies into the screen, then plays in reverse than just zooming left out.

Technique: 2D digital animation.

Audio: None, but sometimes it uses the second Regal Films logo theme.

Availability: Can be seen on the VHS tapes like Hanggang Saan Ang Tapang Mo and Barbi For President.

Regal Home Video

1st Logo (1990s-2003)

Visuals: Same as the Regal Television logo, but with a bluish rectangle appearing to chyron over the original "REGAL TELEVISION" text, and then the text "REGAL HOME VIDEO" zooms in below the logo, and stopping in the rectangle.

Technique: CGI, with the rectangle and the "REGAL HOME VIDEO" text chyroned over the original.

Audio: "Fanfare Royal" by William Loose off of the Captain Dynamo (And His Mission To Save The Universe) album.

Audio Variant: On a release of Ang Titser Kong Pogi and Di Ko Kayang Tanggapin (2000, April Boy Regino film), the logo is silent.

Availability: This was seen on some VHS/DVD/VCD movies like Gagamboy, Bahay Ni Lola, Ang Titser Kong Pogi, Vizconde Massacre: God Help Us!, Aguinaldo: Agila Ng Cagayan, Hesus Rebolsyonaryo and other Regal Films, and also from their subsidiaries Good Harvest Unlimited Inc., MAQ Productions Inc., Mother Studio Films, and RMI. This logo can be also found on their HV releases from films made by OctoArts Films, pre-VIVA Films (such as FLT Films International), Maverick Films, Star Cinema/ABS-CBN Film Productions (until 2001, which most rights transferred to Star Records Video/Star Home Video), Millennium Cinema, Reyna Films Movies (including Saan Ka Man Naroroon and Abot Kamay Ang Pangarap), Seiko Films, GMA Films, and others. It is believed to be seen on Japanese movies/anime releases such as Dragon Ball The Movie 2 & 3 (Creative Products Corp. Dub), Mini 4WD Series, Let's & Go: The Movie and other releases made by Toei and Toho Company.

2nd Logo (2003-2005)

Logo starts at 0:51

Visuals: On a black and yellow backgroud is the Regal logo in red zooming in. And after that, the Regal logo stops zooming for about 10 seconds. A white outline surrounds the logo with a purple-yellow box along with a gold rectangle, surrounding the logo and "REGAL ENTERTAINMENT, INC." from above and "40 years" from below as the words are appearing. Regal Home Video appears below the logo, Then we go straight to the DVD Video logo which zooms in slowly, as well as the copyright holder screen which then zooms out after the DVD Video logo.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: It starts with a low synth sounder and some synthesized sequencing where the Regal logo zooms in, then a loud whoosh where they go straight to the DVD Video logo, followed by a loud lightning sound at the end. (which mean for the copyright holder screen.)

Audio Variants:

For VHS and VCD releases, it uses the Academy Home Entertainment logo music.
There is an abridge fanfare exists.

Availability: Spotted on DVD releases of Karnal and Bangkang Papel. It is unknown if this logo may contain or the original "Cheesy Regal Home Video" on VCD or DVD.

3rd Logo (2005- )

Visuals: Unknown.

Variant: There is a version with the logo zoom out exists.

Technique: Fading effects.

Audio: None.

Availability: It was preceeded by copyright year info and Regal Home Entertainment logo on VCD and DVD releases of that time.

Regal Home Entertainment

1st Logo (1992-1993)

Visuals: On a black background, segments of a TV tube spins in opposite directions (Some going left and some going right). On the segments, it shows TV static. When the segments nearly meets to connect each other, it changed into the 35mm film detoration. When they connected each other, it changed back into static. The segmented purple/blue gradient background with white lines appears from the top to the bottom to clear the static. The yellow lines flies in below the tube and turn to reveal:

As it happens, the Regal Films "R" design forms in front of the tube.

Variant: There is a copyright holder screen that says "COPYRIGHT (YEAR) BY REGAL CAPITAL INC." after the logo. A Feature Presentation indicator follows after this.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: The first Academy Home Entertainment logo theme - after the logo, when the copyright holder and Feature Presentation screens appear, Sword Ballet from the film A Fish Called Wanda, composed by John Du Prez of Monty Python fame, plays while this is happening.

Availability: Seen on VHS releases at the time such as Aswang, Mahal ko ang mister mo, Boy Topak and the 1993 VHS of Gascon Bala ang Katapat Mo right before the Warner Home Video FBI Warning screen and copyright holder screen. This logo was only used on foreign releases.

2nd Logo (1993-1994)

Visuals: Unknown.

Variant: A Feature Presentation bumper (sometimes it uses the different font and animation) exists - the music remains.

Technique: Unknown.

Audio: Same as the first logo.

Availability: Known to appear on a VHS of Kung Ako'y IIwan Mo, Once Upon a Time (1987), Tikboy Tikas, and Geron Olivar.

3rd Logo (1994-2000)

Visuals: Unknown.

Variants:

A Feature Presentation Bumper exists - as the music remains.
On 2000 releases, its starts with a 2000 text before the normal logo, this was seen on Ipinanganak na ang taong papatay sa iyo (2000).
Another version followed by Sneak Preview bumper exists.

Audio: Same as the first logo.

Audio Variants:

On Multo in the City, it is silent.
On some VHS releases such as Pulis Probinsiya 2, it uses a Latin-esque guitar/cuíca tune, which continues well into the Feature Presentation screen.
Another version uses the ascending fanfare, this was seen on Santo Santito.

Availability: Seen on Regal's releases on the timeframe.

4th Logo (2005- )

Visuals: On a black and yellow background (again), the Regal logo's outline draws itself in purple. Then the text "REGAL HOME ENTERTAINMENT" comes in from the left of the screen and this, along with two copies, makes its way to form a circle and spins across the logo. The outlines quickly erases, then the finished product reveals the logo in full colour, with the crown in yellow, and the R in red. The background then changes from black to indigo, while yellow remains at the bottom.

Variant: On some releases such as When I Met U (2009), the Regal R zooms in after the logo’s finished.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Same as the second Regal Home Video "40 Years" logo.

Availability: Seen on DVD and VCD releases from the company, such as Say That You Love Me, Tiyanaks, Blue Moon and others.
