Canal 2/Tevedos/Teledos

1st Logo (1980-1983)

Nicknames: "The Conjoined 2s", "The Argentinian Holy Grail"

Logo: Several squares pop up on a black background to reveal a white background with a strange looking shape. This shape is actually 2 conjoined "2"s made of 3 stripes, and it starts to slowly zoom in. It then stops, taking up almost the entire screen, and a Scanimated star outline flashes and expands over the logo, coloring it blue/red/green. The text "LS 86 Canal 2/La Plata/Argentina" then wipes in below in Century Gothic.

FX/SFX: The logo appearing, the shape zooming in and colorizing, the text wiping in. Scanimation is used here.

Music/Sounds: Several beeps can be heard throughout the logo, with an female announcer saying "Desde La Plata, capital de la provincia de Buenos Aires, transmite LS 86 TV Canal 2." ("From La Plata, capital of the province of Buenos Aires, broadcasts LS 86 TV Channel 2.").

Availability: Extinct.

Editor's Note: TBA

2nd Logo (1983-1986)

Nicknames: "The Digital 2", "The Enigma 2"

Logo: On a black background, a blue line is drawn on the left side of the screen and an abstract city-scape emerges from it, with the windows represented by three orange lines then flying in under the city and flashing at a point, in which a orange circle representing the sun rises from it. After it rises up, a piece of a digital "2" flies out of the flash and cuts into place in sync with the music. As the last piece flies into place, it glows bright orange and the text "canal" flashes in the top part of the "2", which for some reason disappears. After it disappears, the text "LS 86 TV canal 2 - La Plata - Argentina" appears below the city, sandwiched between 2 two lines.

FX/SFX: The city and sun forming, the flying pieces, the flash.

Music/Sounds: It begins with an rising synth, similar to an UFO sound. It then suddenly changes into a bass rock tune, with snippets played during the 2 forming, before leading to a short sting. An announcer (either an deep-pitched male or an female that sounds robotic) then says the broadcasting info for the channel, then ends with one final sting.

Availability: There is a very slim chance that this can be found on VHS tapes showing commercials from the time period.

3rd Logo (1986-1988)

Nicknames: "The Filmstrips"

Logo: We see pink filmstrips with a blue background and chromed numbers, in a rounded font, inside each cell. The background is a dim grayish-green. The numbers flash as they are being shown (starting from "6" even though numbers up to "9" are shown). The camera zooms in specifically on the "2", which is in a circle like all the other numbers. Then. "TELE DOS" with a "2" next to it in a bold blue font zoom out on an orange-yellow gradient background. "El canal de las noticias" is on the bottom in black. Station info is seen at the bottom.

Variant: An abridged version existed, where the logo starts at the 2, but the zoom out is much earlier.

FX/SFX: The filmstrips appearing, the numbers shining, and the zoom-out.

Music/Sounds: It begins with a typical 80s sounder, with an ethereal synth throughout the logo. Ends in a similar fashion in which it begins. An announcer says "Transmite LS 86 TV Canal 2, Teledos, La Plata, Buenos Aires, Republica Argentina, el mejor pais del mundo." ("Broadcasting LS 86 TV Channel 2, Teledos, La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentine Republic, the best country in the world.").

Availability: Extinct.

Editor's Note: TBA

4th Logo (1988-1989)

Nicknames: "The Flying Saucer", "The UFO",

Logo: On a space background, we see a blue flying saucer flying around (which is actually a scene from John Carpenter's The Thing). Once it's near the corner of the screen, the animation freezes. A "2" is shot from the lower part of the flying saucer, then the number dissapears and the word "TELEDOS" slides from below. A white cloud appear in the other corner, where the channel indicator/name and those of the other stations appear. Once all the stations are presented, the flying saucer flies again, this time in reverse and out of the screen.

Variant: Theres a shortened version in which only the main channel is presented.

FX/SFX: 3D animation, plagiarized from John Carpenter's The Thing.

Music/Sounds: A futuristic tune. The sound of the flying and the announcer saying the channel name and other stations. When the animation is shortened, the main channel is the only mentioned.

Availability: Extinct.

5th Logo (1989-1991)

Nicknames: "Back to the Tevedos", "The Rainbow 2", "The Native American 2"

Logo: On a black background, a shiny golden "2" with an rainbow-colored arc (resembling an Indian headdress) flies in from the bottom of the screen, rotating into place as it does. The "2" then zooms out as "TEVEDOS" in a Western-like font drops in from the top of the screen and flips into place, as station info appears below. As the music ends, the "2" warps around as the text zooms away from the screen as the logo becomes normal.

FX/SFX: Simple animation.

Music/Sounds: The Back To The Future theme, along with either an male or female announcer saying "Transmite LS 86 TV Canal 2, Teledos, La Plata, Buenos Aires, Republica Argentina." ("Broadcasting LS 86 TV Channel 2, Teledos, La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentine Republic.").

Availability: Extinct.
