Background

The original AT&T Corporation was founded in March 3, 1885 by Alexander Graham Bell, Gardiner Greene Hubbard and Thomas Sanders, initially as one of the subsidiaries of the American Bell Telephone Company. It soon became the new parent company after acquiring the latter company's assets on December 30, 1899. Since then, the company (along with its subsidiaries) had held a monopoly called the Bell System, which was split up by 1983.

2nd Logo (2005-2006)

Visuals: On a black background with 2 blue lines above and below, the 2001 Southwestern Bell Corporation logo and the 1999 AT&T logo are seen in the center. They then come towards each other, combining with a flash as the two blue lines form a blue background. The lines contract to their original locations, as the new 2005 AT&T logo flashes in, emitting some halos outward. The lines on the globe spin twice before returning to their regular position. The slogan "Your world. Delivered." is seen below.

Trivia: This logo was created after AT&T merged with Southwestern Bell Corporation (SBC) in 2005.

Variants:

A shortened version exists, which cuts out the merging.
When AT&T sponsored the Winter Olympics, the Team USA logo faded in below.
A version with the URL "thenewATT.com" at the bottom exists.
