Background

Double Hemm Productions is the vanity card of television comedy writers and Drawn Together creators Dave Jeser and Matt Silverstein.

1st Logo (October 27, 2004-November 14, 2007)

Logo: On black and white footage of a bridge collapsing, the words "Double Hemm" wipe in from the left on the bottom, in Compacta.

Trivia: The footage is from the Tacoma Narrows Bridge collapse from November 7, 1940. The only mortal victim was a dog called "Tubby", that was inside a car when the bridge collapsed.

Technique: Live-action footage and 2D animation.

Audio: The stock sound effect of a child's laughter that echoes with two warping sounds and two banging sounds in the background.

Audio Variant: On the Drawn Together Season 2 episode "Terms of Endearment", a horse's whinny replaces most of the laughter. This was a jab at the censors for nixing the original version of the episode, which contained a scene resembling how Christopher Reeve got paralyzed, and Reeve himself died close to when the episode was supposed to air, delaying it for a year. This sound variant is kept for the rest of Season 2.

Availability: Can be seen on the infamous Drawn Together.

2nd Logo (November 23, 2013-September 1, 2019)

Logo: On a CGI CRT TV on top of a nightstand in front of a wall, the footage from the previous logo plays, but it is also in CGI, and the car is on the opposite side of the bridge. "DOUBLE HEMM" is in all capitals this time and in Futura, and is already present when the logo appears.

Technique: CGI.

Audio:

  • Golan the Insatiable: There is a quote from the episode with crashing sounds in the background.
  • What Just Happened??! with Fred Savage: There is a different quote from the episode without the crashing sounds.

Audio Variants:

  • On the Golan the Insatiable episode "Shell Raiser", a short fanfare is heard.
  • On the Golan the Insatiable episode "On Golan Pond", a quote is removed.
  • On the Golan the Insatiable episode "Golan the Impregnable", an unknown 80s rock music plays with Alexis Beekler (voiced by Rachel Butera) shouts "Richard!".

Availability: Seen on Golan the Insatiable and What Just Happened??! with Fred Savage.
