Background

Double Hemm Productions is the vanity card of television comedy writers and Drawn Together creators Dave Jeser and Matt Silverstein.

1st Logo (October 27, 2004-November 14, 2007)

Nicknames: "The Collapsing Bridge", "The Drawn Together Logo", "Galloping Gertie"

Logo: On black and white footage of a bridge collapsing, the words "Double Hemm" wipe in from the left on the bottom.

Trivia: The footage is from the Tacoma Narrows bridge collapse from November 7, 1940. The only mortal victim was a dog called "Tubby", that was inside a car when the bridge collapsed.

FX/SFX: The bridge collapsing, the text wiping.

Music/Sounds: The stock sound effect of a child's laughter that echoes with two warping sounds and two banging sounds in the background.

Music/Sounds Variant: On the Drawn Together Season 2 episode "Terms of Endearment", a horse's whinny replaces most of the laughter. This was a jab at the censors for nixing the original version of the episode, which contained a scene resembling how Christopher Reeve got paralyzed, and Reeve himself passed away close to when the episode was supposed to air, delaying it for a year. Strangely, this sound variant is kept for the rest of Season 2.

Availability: Can be seen on Drawn Together.

Editor's Note: With the fact that the laughter, bridge, and background sound effects can be seen as creepy to some, it doesn't help that the closing credits jarringly cut to this logo. However, it is a favorite among Drawn Together fans.

2nd Logo (November 23, 2013-September 1, 2019)

Nicknames: "The Collapsing Bridge II", "The Animated Bridge", "Bridge on TV", "The Golan the Insatiable Logo", "Galloping Gertie II"

Logo: On a CGI CRT TV on top of a nightstand in front of a wall, the footage from the previous logo plays, but it is also in CGI, and the car is on the opposite side of the bridge. "DOUBLE HEMM" is in all capitals this time and in a different font, and is already present when the logo appears.

FX/SFX: The bridge collapsing on the TV.

Music/Sounds:

  • Golan the Insatiable: There is a quote from the episode with crashing sounds in the background.
  • What Just Happened??! with Fred Savage: There is a different quote from the episode without the crashing sounds.

Music/Sounds Variants:

  • On the Golan the Insatiable episode "Shell Raiser", a short fanfare is heard.
  • On the Golan the Insatiable episode "On Golan Pond", a quote is removed.
  • On the Golan the Insatiable episode "Golan the Impregnable", an unknown 80s rock music plays with Alexis Beekler (voiced by Rachel Butera) shouts "Richard!".

Availability: Seen on Golan the Insatiable and What Just Happened??! with Fred Savage.

Editor's Note: With the logo animated and there being a quote from the episode, nowhere near as many people are as likely to be caught off guard by it compared to the previous one.
