Background

Dong-ah Motion Picture was a South Korean film company established in 1954 by director Lee Byung-il, a former employee of Nikkatsu who previously also established Myeongbo Film Company during colonial-era Korea.

1st Logo (February 11, 1956)

Logo: On a stone background, we see a carving depicting a globe with Korea filled in white. A banner encircles the globe, with "DONG-AH" inscribed on it. Below the banner is the inscription "MOTION PICTURE", with "PICTURE" under "MOTION".

Technique: None.

Music/Sounds: The opening theme.

Availability: Seen on 시집가는 날 (The Wedding Day).


2nd Logo (October 14, 1958)


Logo: On a black and white sunburst background, we see a drawing of a globe with the Korean Peninsula, Japan and three phantom islands filled in white, surrounded by a filmstrip with "DONG-AH" inscribed and below is "MOTION PICTURE" stacked. Below the logo, we see the company name in Korean.

Music/Sounds: The opening theme.
