Background

Datos y Mensajes was a Colombian programadora founded in 1979 by Andrés Pastrana and disestablished in the early 2000s. It focused on news programs, notably it's flagship program Noticiero TV Hoy (1979-2001).

1st Logo (1984-1987)

Visuals: Over a black background, the logo starts with 30 segmented blue and red lines with each bold 14 lines that are red reading out "DATOS & MENSAJES" in a stacked form. The blue lines flip from the right, with the red lines flipping from the left. The colors then change to the opposite, then it contrary repeats before seguing to the program opening.

Technique: Analog 2D animation.

Audio: A synth tune with an announcer.

Availability: Seen at the beginning of Noticiero TV Hoy broadcasts until 1987.

2nd Logo (1987-1998)

Visuals: There is the blue-green words "DATOS Y MENSAJES" fly in, word by word, on a gray-white gradient background with a spinning darker gray globe beneath the words. The globe zooms in, and this transitions into the program opening.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: The opening theme, which consists of a repetitive deep synth track. A high pitched descending synth note is heard for every word that appears, with a metal clang as the globe zooms in. A voiceover then says "Datos y Mensajes presenta..."

Availability: Seen at the beginning of Noticiero TV Hoy broadcasts until 1998.

3rd Logo (1998-2001)

Visuals: On a black background with flying blue rings, gears and a barely visible animated turquoise clock with a light flying over it, three silver wireframe globes fly over directions before settling into place in the middle, with "DATOS Y MENSAJES" in a stacked form on the right slide into place.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A techno news fanfare with an announcer saying "Datos y Mensajes, presento".

Availability: Seen at the beginning or endings of Noticiero TV Hoy until its final broadcast in 2001.
