Background

Panorama International Productions is a production company and distributor of travel films, based in Beverly Hills, California. Panorama was founded in 1972 by Antony Luciano. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, the company released a number of souvenir videos for various attractions in the United States. Panorama is still in business and now releases its films on DVD. The majority of their films are shot in France and Italy, and focus on aspects such as the local cuisine in certain areas of the country. Panorama's original VHS releases are not available on DVD.

1st (known) Logo (1980s?)

Logo: On a purple background, a symbol consisting of a blue camera and what appears to be a blue strip of film zooms in and onto the background. It glows. Then "CINESCOPE ENTERPRISES PRESENTS" in a blocky font fades in. After that the Cinescope text fades out and is replaced by the also blocky text "A PANORAMA INTERNATIONAL PRODUCTION" which also fades in. After that it fades out.

Variant: On some tapes the title (for example "Visions of America", as seen in the photo) appears superimposed on the logo.

FX/SFX: Probably a mix of cel and video animation.

Music/Sounds: A rising synth sound and a synth glowing sound, followed by a truncated version of "Prestige Logo (1)" by Paddy Kingsland.

Availability: Rare. Can be seen on early releases from the company.

2nd Logo (1990s?)

Logo: On a blue/black gradient background, 4 copies of the camera from before, each facing a different direction and in a different color, come in from all corners of the screen. When they cross over each other, they zoom out and rotate around so that only a yellow camera can be seen, which quickly turns to light blue. The filmstrip then draws in to complete the logo. "CINESCOPE ENTERPRISES" then appears, followed by "PRESENTS" in the same font as before. It then fades out to make way for "A PANORAMA INTERNATIONAL PRODUCTION".

FX/SFX: Simple, primitive effects.

Music/Sounds: A majestic synth fanfare.

Availability: Rare. Can be seen on later releases from the company.
