CNN Chile

Background

CNN Chile is a Chilean pay television channel news channel. It was launched in 2008 as a joint venture between VTR and Warner Bros. Discovery.

1st (known) Logo (2011-2013)

Logo: On a red background, we see a segmented white globe of the Earth being formed, after which two red stripes pass in front of it. The camera then fades to a different view of the stripes and a white one forming the "CNN" wordmark in its corporate font, and a black rectangle with a blue bottom and the word "CHILE" on it fades in around it, with the words "Está pasando. Lo estás viendo." ("It is happening. You are seeing it." in Spanish) fading in below.

2nd Logo (4th Anniversary; 2012)

Logo: On a blue background, two red stripes move through the screen, forming a striped "4". The CNN Chile logo appears next to the "4", and the word "AÑOS" ("YEARS") appears below it. The logo shines, and a flare writes the words "Está pasando. Lo estás viendo." below it.

FX/SFX: 3D animation.

3rd Logo (2013-2016?)

Logo: On a blue background, we see several blue, white and red stripes moving diagonally. In the middle we see the "CNN" wordmark and "CHILE" below as the background starts to zoom out. When it stops, the stripes move out of the screen and the black and blue rectangles slide from the top and bottom towards "CNN" and "CHILE" respectively, and the slogan "Está pasando. Lo estás viendo." appears below the formed logo.

4th Logo (5th Anniversary; 2013)

Logo: We see two closeups of the CNN Chile logo. After they're shown, the camera zooms out to reveal the whole logo on a dark blue background with a reflective floor as a white "5" is formed next to it and the word "años" arranged vertically slides in, stopping next to its upper part. A light passes by the finished logo.

FX/SFX: CGI animation.

5th Logo (2016?-)

Logo: On an aerial capture of some buildings, we see the CNN Chile logo being formed on the left side of the screen, with the slogan "Está pasando. Lo estás viendo." appearing below it and disappearing after some seconds.

Variant:

• In some cases, a capture of a car with the CNN logo is used instead.
• During 2017/2018, the logo was updated to show the new CNN Chile logo (which is similar to the previous logo, except that the words are white and in a red box).
