Background

Blue Underground is an American home video company that re-releases cult classic horror and exploitation films, as well as generally neglected studio films. It was founded by cult filmmaker William Lustig after his time at Anchor Bay.

Logo (June 25, 2002-)


Visuals: On a black background, orange-toned pictures of cinema fronts are seen rotating to the left. Over time, it gets more skewed and seems to grow vertically, right before it rotates upwards to reveal the Blue Underground logo, which has "BLUe" in a large light blue font, with "UnDeRGROUnD" in the same font but smaller and in dark blue, rising up. The circle of pictures continue to rotate until they fade to a plain blue color, right as the URL fades in.

Technique: CGI and 2D digital animation.

Audio: A psychedelia-like jingle.

Availability: Can be seen on DVDs such as the uncut version of Vampyres, The Final Countdown (1980), and others.
