Expand the mascots' appearances and roles

Considering we have decided to include them onto the portals and infoboxes, how about several more ideas that will use them more in the future? These include:

  • Put Ace and Vivi onto the main page, error pages (e.g., 404s), and welcome messages. The latter will have dialogue, but it will be fine if the other two have them involved.
  • Create project pages explaining who they are. The welcome template will link their images to their own pages. This is similar to how Wikipedia and the Lost Media Wiki gives their mascots pages.
  • Allow different kinds of art styles and artists to craft various interpretations of these characters and the acts they partake in. Since logos come in all shapes and sizes, the different art styles for these mascots will complement how much variety there can be found across logos. People may vote on whether or not these images should be featured artwork (similar to the Featured Media Nominations page), which can go in a page dedicated to that. Of course, they would have to be digitized for display if the artist created the work on paper or any non-electronic material.
  • Implement emojis of these mascots on Discord (originally proposed by Trevor).
  • Randomize images of the mascots on the portals in a similar light to refreshing selected articles. It creates more opportunities for the mascots to toy around with the medium as well as make it possible for users to get their artwork featured on the site. Again, they have to be voted if they should be featured on those sections.

This is to add some needed steam to introduce our mascots to visitors as well as give more people the chance to have their name be credited thanks to their contributions of bringing these mascots to life. Camenati (talk) 03:37, 15 April 2023 (UTC)
